PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

 40 years working in the criminal justice system.  Over 30 of those years working in the Northwest Missouri region. Working with international, federal, state, county and municipalities at all  levels of government

MISSION STATEMENT

Building a Safer and Just Community

  1. PROMOTING COMMUNITY SAFETY BY HOLDING OFFENDERS ACCOUNTABLE FOR THEIR ACTIONS BY:

    1. Handing out appropriate sentences to offenders who repeatedly victimize the community. 

    2. Ensuring appropriate placement of offenders within the correctional system in an effort to curb them from offending once they are released (drug/mental rehab).

    3. Zero tolerance for offenders who violate their probation/parole by victimizing the community. 

    4. Promote placing first time offenders of non-violent crime into alternative treatment programs.

  2. PROMOTE COURT INTEGRITY BY:

    1. Ensuring both the victim/ defendant and/or petitioner/respondent get a timely resolution to their case by not allowing unnecessary continuances. 

    2. Ensuring plea agreements made between parties are reasonable and reflect the best interests of everyone involved, including the community. 

  3. PROMOTE AN UNDERSTANDING WITH THE COMMUNITY ON HOW OUR JUDICIAL SYSTEM WORKS BY:

    1. Public speaking at community functions.

    2. Speaking to children in the area schools.

    3. Creating an informative and interactive Web-Site with information and mock hearings/trials to show the community what to expect when coming to the court and why.
